There are so many things to see and do at the state fair that it will take you an entire week or more to experience everything.

One of my favourite places at the MN State Fair is the Dairy Building. The Dairy Building houses over 40 vendors selling anything from french fries, cheese curds, dairy products made locally in Minnesota, fried doughnuts coated with sugar or cinnamon sugar, crepes filled with fruit or cream cheese – to name a few items.

  • Using a perforated spoon, remove the curds from the milk mixture and arrange them in the basket of a perforated skimmer.
  • Deep-fry the curds until golden brown.
  • Drain cheese curds on a paper towel and serve with burnt sugar sauce, if desired.
