The Rainbow of Popular Chinese Food

Chinese food has always been one of the most popular ethnic cuisines in America. Rainbow cuisine is a type of Chinese food that originated from Sichuan Province, China and consisted mainly of meat with vegetables boiled or sautéed in a spicy hot chilli oil sauce. There are many different types of Rainbow Chicken dishes: Rainbow Fried Rice, Rainbow Noodles (also called Chongqing style noodles), Rainbow Beef Stew, Rainbow Pork Chop, etc.

The taste is distinctive due to its spiciness and sweetness, which comes from sugar and soy sauce mixed with red pepper powder – hence “rainbow” because it seems colourful when combining all these ingredients into a single dish!
