How Does It Get Started?

Soup To Nuts started with one woman’s mission to help feed the hungry in King County. Today, it continues to grow due to the generous support of local donors and volunteers.

How Does It Work?

Our clients come to us in need. They’re families managing on limited incomes, people recovering from a crisis, and individuals down on their luck.

We determine their greatest needs and accommodate them with food, groceries, or groceries for work.

Clients come to the Soup To Nuts warehouse, where our volunteers prepare meals at meal prep tables. We have hundreds of volunteers from all walks of life who take their time to help our clients.

What Do Our Volunteers Do?

Our volunteers do whatever it takes to help our clients. They greet them, listen to their stories, and get them the needed resources. They sort and pack donations, drive trucks full of food, and prepare thousands of meals weekly for needy people.

We have three main types of volunteers: warehouse assistants, special event helpers, and meal prep table leaders.

Warehouse assistants help us get food to the doorsteps of our clients. Special event helpers help us coordinate special events, like our Soup To Nuts pop-up dining locations and food trucks.

Meal prep table leaders help prepare meals for our clients at our warehouse. They make sure the clients have their meals on time, and they make sure that they have everything they need throughout the meal prep process.
